They say the best things come in small packages and stocking stuffers are proof that it’s true. We always expect our kids to choose one of their bigger presents as their favorite gift, but every year, they’re inevitably drawn to the trinkets Santa left them in their stockings. We’re so excited to see their faces light up this year and have rounded up a list of stocking stuffers for the whole family!
Art Supplies
Nothing occupies a child’s mind like creating art (the same is also true for adults!) and shiny new tools for little makers will get their creative wheels turning. Depending on the age of the recipient, art supplies can range from finger paints to blending markers.
Classic Games
Such as card games or anything on the go. There’s something to be said about keeping it simple, and these toys will be enjoyed by all.
Books
Many books are small enough to fit in a stocking, and their diminutive size will make them feel all the more special. Whether a tiny board book for small hands or a novel for the adults, everyone will love the gift of reading. Don’t have a reader but someone that loves books, Audible is the perfect gift!
Home Items
Candles are a great way to transform a space and set that cozy, hygge tone for the holidays. The stocking is a perfect place to add a few oils to get the recipient started as well. We also like to add in mugs with packets of hot cocoa.
Accessories
Items like scarves, earrings, headbands, sunglasses, socks, gloves, etc., fit perfectly in stockings and are a loved gift!
Food
Candy canes and fruit are a great traditional option. Hot cocoa bombs, artisanal honey and tea and special Christmas cookies are a great modern take on the sentiment. By the time you’ve reached the stocking phase of present opening, you’ll probably have worked up an appetite. A delicious little snack will help to keep up the holiday stamina.
Experience Gifts
In any other year, we’d recommend adding movie tickets or amusement park passes, something that fits in a small footprint but is sure to cause a big reaction. Since the timeline for return to normalcy isn't quite clear yet, you can get creative by creating your own “coupons” for experience gifts this year. Whether it’s a family sledding trip with hot cocoa, or a movie night living room camp out, there are plenty of safe activities that will still feel special.
